|Content||In this book about the flora of Mongolia 1182 colour
photos of 435 species of vascular plants belonging to
75 families are presented. That is approximately 15 % of the species of this
group existing in Mongolia. The introduction is written in English, Mongolian
and German. The appendix in English indicates information about the distribution,
the locality, the plant was found, and about synonyms. Scientific names of
the plants were used as well as the Mongolian names of the plants.
The intention of the authors is to offer a graphic supplement to the existing floras of Mongolia by publishing photographic pictures as detailed as possible.

Michael Herbert Hauck, diploma biologist,
studied biology at the university of Göttingen with major botany. Since
1986 he works in the state nature conservation agency of the German federal
state of Lower Saxony (Lower Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defense and
Nature Conservation Agency in Hanover); there he has been responsible for
protection of habitats resp. plant species. Since 2002 he has investigated
the flora of Mongolia on several trips.
Zeerd-Aduuchid Boris Solongo, biologist with a master degree, studied biology at the National University of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar with a major in botany. Based in Khonin nuga research station, in the Khentei mountains, jointly operated by the universities of Göttingen and Ulaanbaatar, she compiled a survey of habitats and of endangered vascular plants from 2001 to 2003. Since 2006 she works as freelance biologist
